5 Most Expensive Homes Sold in Phoenix in September 2013

Even though the home market may not be booming this month, that doesn’t mean sales for properties haven’t been made. Despite the news of reduced new home permits being requested or high interest rates discouraging buyers from buying a new house, there are have been a number of consumers who have willingly let go of millions just to get their dream home.

 

Here’s a list of the most expensive properties that have managed to make waves after being sold this month for their luxurious price tag:

 

Buyer: Mike and Brigitte Smith

Details: 6,027 square feet, 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 2-storey home

Price: $3,650,000

 

Ranking first in the list is a home purchased by professional ice hokey goalie Mike Smith and his wife, skier Brigitte Smith. Located in the southern portion of the Country Club at DC Ranch in Scottsdale, the 6,027-square foot, 2-storey home was designed by Bob Bacon. The house has a total of five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and is set up in an acre of land. The house sold to the Smiths for $3,650,000 by Thomas and Gail Archer. While some may consider the price tag to be a bit staggering, the size alone is enough to warrant the place to be a home worth purchasing.

 

Buyer: Christopher and Caroline Cranford

Details: 5,463 square feet, five bedrooms, stone floors, wrought iron chandeliers

Price: $2,400,000

 

Sold by David and Sheri Chapman, this five bedroom residence serves as the perfect refuge for Christopher and Caroline Cranford. Located in the Western section of Scottsdale’s Silverleaf Club, their new home offers the convenience of being near their work area, eliminating the hassles of long travel and traffic jams. Priced at $2,400,000 the 5,463 square-foot home comes with stone floors and is decorated with wrought iron chandeliers to add to its luxurious appeal.

 

Buyer: Mark and Kara Peterson

Details: 7,788 square feet, five bedrooms, six bathrooms

Price: $2,400,000

 

Located at the Mockingbird Lane Estates subdivision in Paradise Valley, Mark Peterson and his wife Kara found this 7,788 square foot residence a good place in the area to call home. Considered a single-family home, the house has total of five bedrooms and six bathrooms. It also has tile roofing and comes with its own garage. The house was sold to the Petersons by Joseph L. Haber, an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hand surgery for $2,400,000. 

Buyer: Amrou Almanaseer

Details: 5,080 square feet, four bedrooms, five bathrooms, built-up roof, stucco exterior walls,

Price: $1,975,000

 

Amrou Almanaseer, must have liked what he saw when he first laid eyes on the 5,080 square feet residence that would soon become his home since he paid for the house in full and in cash. Located in Finisterre, a popular gated community in Paradise Valley, this one-storey residence was sold to Almanaseer by Michael B. Bates. The house is built with a total of four bedrooms and five bathrooms with a lot size of 1.04 acres. It’s also equipped with forced air heating, built-up roofs, and stucco exterior walls.   

 

Buyer: Edward Prestwood

Details: 5,920 square feet, six bathrooms, five bedrooms, floor glass walls, media/game room, gourmet kitchen

Price: $1,815,000

 

Edward Prestwood, owner of Cybersoft Inc., recently purchased this expensive residence located on the eastern section of the Foothills Golf Club in Phoenix. The house measures at 5,920 square foot and sits on a 1.14 acre of land. It comes with five bedrooms, six baths, formal living and dining rooms, and a gourmet kitchen. It’s also equipped with floor glass walls, cherry wood floors, a media/game room, a custom fireplace, and luxurious Italian doors. While he may have paid a lot and in cash, it’s a purchase well-made due to the community and amenities the house has to offer.

It does seem that the market is slowing down.  I wish you well selling in Phoenix.
