The Historic Holiday Home Tour is the culmination of the Historic Hillsborough Holiday Weekend, which kicks off the holiday season in Hillsborough. This is a unique opportunity to visit historic buildings, churches, sites and private homes in Hillsborough. Tickets for the Holiday Home Tour will be available for online purchase on Friday, November 1. In the meantime, purchase tickets by calling the Chamber at 919-732-8156; visiting the Chamber at 1000 Corporate Drive, Suite 301, or visiting the Hillsborough Visitors Center at 150 East King Street. |

Schedule for Hillsborough Holiday Weekend: Friday, December 6, 7 pm – Lighting of the Town Tree Ceremony including carols and stories presented by the Orange Community Players, followed by activities for women and men and children throughout Historic Hillsborough. Saturday, December 7, 10 am – Hillsborough Holiday Parade. The parade starts at Corbin Street and ends at East Margaret Lane. The Chamber hosts the annual Holiday Parade with marching bands, cheerleaders, floats, and the Holiday parade wouldn't be complete without Santa, of course. The Annual Holiday Parade is supported by a grant from the Town of Hillsborough/Tourism Board. Following the parade, start your holiday shopping in downtown Hillsborough and grab a bite to eat at one of Hillsborough’s fine restaurants. |

Sunday, December 8, noon to 6 pm – 27th Annual Hillsborough Holiday Home Tour. You don’t want to miss this self-guided tour that begins at the Hillsborough Visitors Center at 150 East King Street and includes a variety of beautiful homes in Hillsborough and features private homes and public or historic buildings. Many of the houses that will be included have not been on the tour in several years. Shuttle service will be provided in town and this year, most sites will be within walking distance. Homes to include: The Workman House, North Wake Street; The Reid House and Servant’s Quarters, South Cameron Street; The Reid-Shaw House, South Cameron Street and others. Public and Historic buildings to include: Dickson House/Visitor’s Center, 150 East King Street; The Masonic Hall, 142 W. King Street; Hillsborough United Methodist Church, 130 W. Tryon Street; The Burwell School Historic Site, 319 N. Churton Street (closing at 5:00 pm) and others. |
