HOW CAN I HELP YOU

Read the above title slowly. The part you play is upon you when you have a job to do. It is showtime and rehearsals are over. Your result is knocking on your door. Will you answer? Will you let it in or will you be taking a shower while the opportunity goes on to someone else? In buying and selling large expensive items customer service is the focus and you get one chance to make your point..your branding work

SELLING AND BUYING ANYTHING

If someone wants to purchase or sell something in the hundreds of thousands of dollars...ask yourself this? How can you help this process? I went with a friend to purchase a very expensive car $$$ and didn't get home until 10:30 at night. All players stayed past closing to make this happen. What is more compelling is no one asked them to do so. All were willing and in agreement to do what it takes without being told. Ahhh professionals sharing their savvy and it is very satisfying too

SUCCESS SHARED

I asked the tired but very dedicated and helpful salesmen is it common to work late? He didn't flinch and went on to tell me how he held sales records, made good money and his business had repeat and word of mouth bonus to it. He was good at his game and his game was good to him. The employer, the buyer, the customer all flourished because this sales person set the pace. Results followed even stampeded toward him!

NO EXCUSES...NONE

I had nothing to say to this man in words but our hearts were in total agreement. Every once in a while, I meet my like kind. People who are hands on, focused and true to their professional calling where NO EXCUSES are the norm. A call to action similar to an alarm bell goes off and to the professional it signals their profession and the professional to go to work. I wait for my turn and then...CARPE DIEM

YOUR CALLING IS NOT A CARD BUT AN ACTION

Please help me understand how you can not give extra-ordinary service to everyone involved in transactions that involve anywhere form tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars? If there ever was a time to make the point as well as a living in large purchase transactions it would be if you get one and demonstrate superior handling all the way to the close. People talk about those things

WOW ME...JUST THRILL ME

I want to be WOWED. However, it doesn't come often enough or on a regular basis. I had eaten out at a upscale popular and expensive restaurant not too long ago where the server exceeded my expectations. Delivered the promise of the restaurant experience and then exceeded it. His heart was on point for my benefit and pleasure. I lacked for nothing and asked for nothing. It was given before and I was serviced totally. Rare this was and it commanded more than a thank you...My tip spoke for me as well. I write about it now too

People will remember large purchases of that you can be sure but whether they remember the part you played in them is another matter.

Richie, I think you said it perfectly, we want to be wowed and because that doesn't happen very often, when it does it stands out in the crowd.

Richie, As always well stated.  When one goes beyond what others expect it is such a pleasure for the person receiving the service.  I believe the same goes for the person giving the service as well. When I go somewhere be it a store, restaurant or whatever, I truly want the best service I can get.  If in a clothing store for example, I do not want to browse through all of the merchandise unless I am window shopping.  I want someone to help me find what I am looking for and who knows their merchandise.   I always end up purchasing more than I thought when this happens, and when it does not I tend not to purchase anything.  Restaurants are hopefully a place to relax and enjoy one's meal and when made extraordinarily pleasant then the rewards are greater for the one who is giving the service.

Richie, customer service is the crowning jewel of any successful business. Personally, I love being wowed but am satisfied when the person delivers what they promised. Using your restaurant example, my waiter doesn't have to exceed my expectations (but that is always welcome) but they always have to deliver on what they promised.

Under-performing and shortchanging your customers is never good, especially if your business thrives on customer service. Always remember to put your best foot forward and the rest will come to you.

Thanks for your post!

This is a great post, Richie.  I think when we do go over and above it is noted because so many just do the bare minimum.
