Try A Dose Of Eye To Eye For Excellent Communication

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Eye To EyeIn all our communication with personal and business relationships you can come to the state of, "What we have here is a failure to communicate." Sometimes I think good communication should be the easiest thing in the world and sometimes it is as difficult as climbing Mount Everest. Apply

Eye To Eye For Excellent Communication.

Now IT DOES take two to tango but ONE side can get in the face and get it done. The trick to being on the same page with someone is communicate EARLY, OFTEN, ALL THE TIME. Be proactive with your questions and thoughts and iron out differences, hurts, GET ON THE SAME PAGE.

Restate what people told you to see if you got it....

DID YOU GET IT? Or explain it back again. Ask at the end to smooth over hurt feelings, ARE WE GOOD NOW? Someone, one side has to be BRAVE in the communication and plow through walls and all sorts of invisible barriers that there may be to get to UNDERSTANDING, that same page thing. WITHOUT good communication and that two to tango thing, life in a relationship OF ANY KIND is going to be DIFFICULT at best. All you can do is be the BEST communicator on your side and see if you can achieve that eye to eye feeling. If the other side gives you at least a shot at understanding who they are and where they are coming from and what is important to them, WELL YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY!!

Eye to eye communication can also be accomplished with a phone call. Staying in touch and asking do you have any questions or  are we all good now... are ways to keep any kind of relationship in good standing.

Gary, taking communication seriously and making sure that it is done in the manner that the other party(s) can get is critical even if all seems well at the start.  It is amazing how much can be handled by just checking in and the flip side of how quickly things can fall apart by simply not staying in touch.

I'm a face to face kind of person when it's possible, but that's not always.  But then phone is a must.  I hate doing business by only email.  So many times people read attitude tht wasn't intended into emails.

Hi Gary, Face to Face. That seems to becoming less as communications styles change. It feels much less personal today. I rely on technology a good bit, but face to face is my style and it has allowed me to substitute the electronic format often without losing the personal one one touch. It has to be a good balance. I spent hours today staging a home. The doorbell rang and a neighbor recognised my car and asked if i would contact them next to get ready for putting their home on the market. That's my favorite kind of referral, they track me down.

I too love a face-to-face meeting. So much is lost in written or telephone communication. I like to be able to read body language - and yes, see someone eye-to-eye when communicating with them.

Good reminder for all of us. Email and phone calls are not a good substitute for eye to eye communications.

Gary, you are so right. Eye to eye communication is becoming a premiem with the growth in Internet marketing and contact leads. We rarely lose a client who starts eye to eye wth eye.

Good morning Gary,

I'm coming over from Kathy's post this morning from one of her "Ah-ha" moments. Great post to qualify. Somehow I missed it but not surprising with all the changes! Eye to eye in communication helps foster a meaningful relationship..something on-line presence has difficulty establishing on the initial contact.

Gary, how does the saying go?  The eyes are windows to the soul.  Face to face, mano a mano or eye to eye is always going to give the best result.  Here via Kathy.

Thought this one was going to be about using SKYPE in the real estate dog and pony marketing circle, cycle. The tone, pauses, body language, so much is script away in the hurry scurry and two thumbs down texting. Two thumbs up for the face to face, heart to heart that we have around the kitchen table of the home during the listing process.
