Paws Park Dog Park Undergoing Changes, Jacksonville Beach, FL

Dog owners - I just saw this on Jacksonville.com, and wanted to get the word out.

The Paws Park located by the city ballfields off Shetter Ave and down the street from the cop shop (Jax Beach PD) will be closing in November, and re-opening in February as a membership park.

The details have not been released as to what the renovations are, but if you and your pooch use this park now, you will want to get your last visit in before November, and find an alternate dog park until they re-open in February. 

As a bit of trivia, this was the first free dog park to open in Duval County, FL in 2005.

I can't imagine what kind of renovations would be needed at a dog park that would take three months, some builders can build a house in that much time. It's good to know as a dog owner, and a tax payer.

Carol, We have 2 dog parks in town and one I know you need to pay a membership fee. It costs money to keep these up.
