Down Payment Grants for Conn.

By
Mortgage and Lending with loanDepot.com NMLS #139622

As the industry continues it's warp speed change the challenges for loan officers keep coming. Recently I have learned about a new program to help my 1st time buyers achieve their goals of owning a home, and with realtors facing many challenges of their own thought you  would find this useful.  This CT state wide grant program will increase their capabilities to purchase a home. With most programs requiring 3% to 5% down now or scores over 620 this grant program will help bridge the gap for those buyers on the edge ready to move forward and not able to save enough for a down payment. As a realtor I am sure you can appreciate this, and with things changing so fast learning the new procedures is half the battle. If you're a realtor in CT  and have borrowers who might be in need of  DP assistance drop me a line or give me a call.

I live in Merced, Ca. We have 2 programs. They help alot. I recommend for first timers to investigage it way before you are ready to move. It usually takes a few months to go through the red tape.

New Jersey has a couple of programs, and while they might vary by county they are very helpful.  One of the programs requires 'homeownership training', or at least that's what I call it.  Alot of great information and a real help to first time home buyers.
