In the past, I haven't been a big fan of Craigslist. In fact, the leads we got from there were quite poor - people just price shopping.
I stopped using this around 4 yrs ago.
........BUT..... I was super impressed with the Webinar that Bob Stewart hosted with Katrina Benton. In fact, I think I've watched it 3 times (some of it in the background as I've been doing other stuff and playing around with things). Take a listen. It's really impressive.
2 key ways that she uses this:
1. She generates leads from Craigslist...her objective is for them to click to her website. So by doing this, and if they read relevant pages from your site, they can be more informed/better customers.
2. This has helped improve her SEO, so that the regular google searchers are more likely to find her. This is what is coolest for me.
I called Katrina the other night to ask her a few questions. I'm now in the process of experimenting with this...and reapplying to my business. I have a few things I want to test (and trying to get a bit of a baseline). Once I have a method set up, I'm handing this over to one of my assistants to implement. I'm in the process of trying to develop a "repeatable process" just like several other things I have done.
Thank you Katrina and Bob for helping me see a new perspective. I think this can be a great opportunity. I've already shared this idea w/ a local handyman, too (he refers biz to me, so I want him to do well).
