We have a beautiful state in Colorado. I enjoy the mountain view from my back yard. You can view the traffic webcam at Red Mountain webcam
Debbie: Colorado is so scenic, and your photo of Red Mountain Pass shows it so well. And teverything in Colorado is so high, I know I always had to WALK very carefully for the first day or two every time I came to Colorado because of the altitude.
I'm glad you liked the pictures, Kwee. Thanks for all of your comments tonight.
Debbie - WOW! Those pictures are beautiful. I am very impressed. And I love how you transition into letting everyone know that you are a real estate agent. Very smooth. Great blog!
Debbie, this is such a great example of a perfectly written localism post. Terri said it very well, your transition from information and local history to who you are and what you do is just perfect. Kudos! Suggested.
BTW, my husband and I took this very road more than a dozen years ago during a summer trip to visit friends and it is an amazing mix of engineering and breathtaking vistas. I wasn't aware of it's history, thank you for sharing.
A million dollars back then, I can't even imaging what is would cost now or even if it would be built. Thank you for the history less and sharing the photos.
Thanks, Debbie, for sharing your photographs. You make us want to visit the area.
Have an outstanding week.
Debbie it is beautiful. i sure would love to see it in person one day soon, maybe in teh summer instead of winter though. I cant believe all the white already. it seems too early. Have a great Sunday, I am off for an 815am appointment on a Sunday, what was i thinking?
Hi, Jerry...we do live in a beautiful state.
Hi, Hella...when you aren't use to the altitude it does make it hard to breath for a few days.
Hi, Terri...I'm glad you liked the pictures. Thanks for stopping by.
What a great comment, Nancy. Thanks for stopping by. You make me blush. I'm glad you have taken this trip. It is beautiful.
I agree, Joe. When they did Glenwood Canyon about 20 years it ago, it took many many years to complete. I can't believe what it would take now to do this project.
Hi, Roy...I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. You really know how to take great photos. Thanks for stopping by.
Hi, Scott...you will get out here for a visit one day, and I'll be your tourguide. Start making a list now of the places you want to see.
Thanks for stopping by, John. It is amazing what God has done.
Hi Debbie - One of the best days I ever spent on my bicycle was riding Red Mountain Pass from Silverton to Ouray the year Ride The Rockies did that route. That is some of the best scenery anywhere, and seeing it from a bicycle seat was amazing.
Hi Debbie, I must tell you I love this Pass-I traveled to Durango on it and the views were breathtaking. I was very glad however, that it wasn't raining or snowing!
Debbie, love the Colorado photos...beautiful scenery and see why you love it there.
Debbie,
Thank you for introducing me to the majestic mountains and pristine landscaping of Red Mountain Pass. I would bet it's really something to experience and the colors and scenery is never the same twice. I would love to visit this gorgeous place here on earth. Your story and photographs are the best I've seen today!!!
I would imagine to drive through the Red Mountain Pass is as awe-inspiring as the Grand Canyon. When it comes to landscaping, the West does it best!
Debbie, You are so good about sharing about your part of Colorado. I like learning about the background and how some of the landmarks got their names.
Is it open throughout the winter months? It reminds me of a pass up in the blue ridge mountains, but it's only open in good weather.
Hi Debbie,
Gorgeous pictures! I'm not so sure that I would want to drive on that road in the winter. I loved Dick's idea of enjoying the scenery along that road a bicycle - if I didn't have to pedal the bicycle all the way up there.
Debbie, the way you describe Red Mountain and the local animals with your beautiful photos makes us want to visit. Unbelievable photos, you really captured the snow tops and so clear and bright sunny day.... you"re the best.
Hi Debbie, gorgeous photographs of the Red Mountain Pass with the history lesson. It shows you know the area very well.
