Top 3 Things You Can Do To Make Your Website Rank Higher in GOOGLE

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Realty Executives Elite Homes

Since I have a background in online marketing and I am still pretty active consulting with large fortune 500 firms (helps me support my Real Estate habit) I thought I would share with other agents what are the Top 3 things you can do to get your Real Estate website ranking higher in GOOGLE and all the other search engines, so here they are and let me know if you like them.

#1 Pick A Domain Name That Makes Sense

What I mean by this is if you work in a town like lets say Seaside Heights NJ, you want wan to have a domain for your website along the lines of not your domain name should have at least your target market area in it or a keyword your are trying to target.

#2 Target your TITLE TAG

One of the most important things that everyone usually misses is your "Title Tag" make it descriptive, use your keyword no more that 3 times and no more than 60 characters, if your wondering what a title tag is its the copy that sits at the very top of your browser window (see below)

#3 Target Your Content

Another thing you should keep in mind is the content on your page should also include your targeted keyword at list 2%-3% of your written copy should have your keyword in it, and when that keyword appears make it bold.

I hope you enjoyed and make use of the 3 simple tips, please let me know if it has helped, I am always available for hire and  to consult with other Realtors and help them get their sites ranking higher in the search engines as long as your not in my immediate territory. :) I can be reached at if you have any questions.

Having a title tag sounds very interesting, and I'll need to investigate that further to make sure I already have one or get one inserted.  Plus, using our keywords in bold sounds very useful. Thanks for passing along these tips!

Yes, the big guys have these key words all locked up for sure...1st, 2nd and 3rd...and so on.

About 1,180,000 results (0.26 seconds)
The First page and most of the second was all locked up.  So having your name and a Geographical location may be the best, since the 1st page will be hard to get with the short tail keywords.   Use long tail keywords for a domain name.
Thanks, makes sense.

I read this detailed Infographic recently, from the Search Engine Journal:
Google's 200 Ranking Factors.  It takes time to read all of it.

Google's Hummingbird algorithm is designed to aid search for mobile devices, where the user may be doing a voice search on a smartphone by asking a question or series of questions.  Such as: "Where is the closest post office?"  "What hours is it open?"

For my WordPress blog, I added a free plugin named Squirrly SEO  It checks blog posts for SEO rules as you write (a rules checker) and produces a weekly SEO report giving advice and a task list on how to improve your blog SEO.

Mathew so helpful.  I will add bold to my key words that might help.  If your available for consult can you also help with the design or a few issues in a website.  I am new to website building and blogging.  Been doing a lot of reading and trying but could use a little help on my website.  Have a few good ideas to add to my site but can't seem to figure out how to get it done.  I have wordpress.  Thank You!  p.s.  I'm a long way from your area:)
