Chateau Elan Winery and Resort is a French Style landmark in North Georgia with an Inn with 275 deluxe guest rooms, a winery, cooking school, top restaurants, European health spa and really nice concerts inside and outdoors. It's a place to visit or show out of town guests. It's also a nice place to live.
Located about 35 miles North of Atlanta GA in Braselton Georgia, Chateau Elan, the community, is a 3,500-acre gated Golf Community is designed for 2,000 homes. The Chateau Elan community surrounds the 63 holes of Championship Golf at Château Élan. Custom homes are available from about $450,000 to several million.
About five or six miles away is Road Atlanta, an European style road race course which for 17 years has held the Petit LeMans road race bringing the top European drives to the area.
In the general area a multitude of over 55 communities have sprouted up, the least of which is not Del Webb's Village at Deaton Creek, which has been the best seller in the Atlanta area for several years. The Village at Deaton Creek has a resident's club to attend the Road Atlanta races during the year. We spent a weekend at VDC and they gave us free dinner at Chateau Elan.

A new hospital is being build in the area. Businesses are sprouting up to service the new residents of the area which is turning out very well at a retirement destination.
Braselton is only about 12 square miles with about 3,000 households. I would consider it one of the best small towns in Georgia for retirement, especially considering it's proximity to the Atlanta area.
