There's no Place like Home
We Love our home. It took my husband and I thirty years to finally end up in the place where we fell in love with each other and Colorado. This is our Rocky Mountain Retreat. At 10,500 ft elevation, our Western Lodge will take your breath away.....![]()
Knowing that we would be in for some extreme weather, we took some valuable advice and made our home our haven.
We included touches like a master bedroom sauna and fireplace to warm up with after a chilly day on the slopes.
A Chef's Kitchen was a must, especially because there are very few eateries in the tiny gold mining towns near our home. An over sized island for our family and friends to gather at while we visit over meal prep is a real plus.
When the snow starts to fly, our family snuggles on the couches near the wood stove fireplace; even at subzero temps, we are often asking someone to crack open a window and let in some cool air. Our first winter in our new home brought record arctic temps and snow falls and there are stories told of us being stranded at home with 10 ft drifts. Being able to enjoy the Majestic Views of the Continental Divide is one of the perks of our Alpine Retreat.
Visitors are enchanted when they come to our Home at the Top of the World. They often comment on the pure air, absolute quiet and the seemingly endless stars at night.
It has truly been a dream come true to live in this Winter Wonderland. Even the smallest members of our family find our Home to be a place where they can kick back and catch a few zzzzzz's.
There's no doubt about it - There's no place like home.
