Halloween Pumpkin Patches in Carlsbad California and Nearby

The Halloween season is upon us and the increasingly popular pumpkin patches are popping up all over Carlsbad and nearby.

Carlsbad Pumpkin PatchPumpkin Patches have grown from simple pumpkin fields with roadside stands where you can wander around and select your pumpkin to elaborate affairs that might include rides, inflatable amusements, bounce houses, petting zoos, food and drinks, hayrides, corn mazes, games, and more.

And of course lots and lots of pumpkins and pumpkin accessories, gourds and Halloween items.

The big Halloween pumpkin patch in Carlsbad is at the Westfield Mall parking lot at the corner of El Camino Real and Marron Road. And it’s the only one I am aware of in town. Be aware it gets VERY crowded on the weekends.

At the Carlsbad Pumpkin Patch the gourds are mostly $1. Pumpkins start at $10 for the cannonball size up to $30 for the largest. Great deal – buy a few!!

Want to know where some of the biggest and best pumpkin patches are around Carlsbad and San Diego? Here’s a list of local pumpkin patches. Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center is always popular but reports I have heard is Carlsbad is better – but you don’t get to shop for all those nuts, either! Another big one is in Del Mar across from the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

Enjoy the tour of the Carlsbad Pumpkin Patch below AND the seasonal music. Hopefully it will not spook you and will get you in the right spirit of the season.

I've got to get pumpkin shopping soon.  I get my Donald to carve a "few" for the office.  He's very talented.

Hi Jeff, I have to agree with your comment back to Tammy that you liike the candy best. I don't eat much of it anymore but that doesn't change the fact that I like it, :-). The Ranch out in Romona on your list had the most pumpkins I have ever seen. The field is also available if you want to pick a really big one. But they have every kind and color. Fun to see how many varieties there are. When I was growing up, I only knew of one type and that was it. The traditional pumpkin. Alexandra and Ron showed a photo of the Tomato Pumpkins. Really different, they look like tomatoes and are the same color.

This time of year is so festive and fun.  It's the beginning of 3 great activity filled months that round out our year.  And how different all 3 are!  Pumpkins, love them.

Jeff, Halloween is favorite holiday for kids, as well as adults.  My grand children love getting to pick there pumpkin, and sometimes take a long time to pick just the right on.

Jeff-I'm not sure if it's pumpkins are gaining in popularity or I'm just more aware of them now. But I'm seeing more displays and places selling them now.

William - yeah, the candy is my weakness. But it works out pretty well if I don't buy it. Haven't been to Ramona yet but we are heading to Julian this weekend. I know there is a large one there in Santa Ysabel or perhaps that's the same one.

Cindy - it really is the triumverate of holidays, isn't it? It seems almost as popular as Christmas.

Barbara - I remember going through that when our kids were little. But it has gotten to be a much bigger holiday. And there are so many pumpkins one can choose from - what a challenge for the young ones.

Wayne - well Halloween is certainly growing every year. I see more decorations all the time and the Halloween stores are everywhere.
