Sun City is Del Webb's famous flag ship name and they do not name a community Sun City unless it is really special. Sun City Peachtree in Griffin GA is Del Webb's largest 55+ community in Georgia (there are two other Del Webb Communities in Georgia).
Sun City Peachtree is located on the edge of Griffin over toward easy access to I-75, only minutes to metro Atlanta. Small town charm with easy access to the city. The Atlanta airport (Hartsfield/Jackson) is only 33 miles from this community which makes it ideal when you do that retirement travel you have been dreaming of. There are flights from the Atlanta airport to just about anywhere you would like to do.
I was there on on opening day in 2007 when the president of Del Webb cut the ribbons and announced how special this community was going to be. Well Del Webb has delivered!
The community has their own private Canongate 18 home golf course. You don't have to be a golfer to enjoy the wipe open spaces this gives or the view you get of the course all around the community. There is a 45 square feet amenity center that I visited and was very impressive. I have been in many activity centers but I think this one was one of the most impressive. It has an indoor walking track! Oh, the fitness center rivals any private fitness center you may be a member of. There are indoor and outdoor swimming pools which is favorite of residents. The walking trails and dog park will give you a good reason to get out of the house. If needed for the Grans, there is a children playground on site.
Now they also have a gold clubhouse with a restaurant!
Sun City Peachtree is a gated and guarded 55+ community of course.
Over 30 clubs, programs and interest groups Del Webb's site says but I know for sure that there are many more than that.
The model park will show you furnished models of all sorts, furnished to a tee, with lofts and basements. I love visiting the model home park at Sun City Peachtree! They will let you in through the sales center and let you browse through at your own page and be waiting with refreshments when you return.
People moving into Sun City Peachtree are coming from all over the country and several from foreign counties to try out the Del Webb lifestyle at Georgia's largest Del Webb 55+ Community.
