Leave White Space For The Road Less Traveled

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

White Space DogI have written in the past about leaving white space in your schedule during the week for "flexibility", for cushion for things that may cramp your day. But I would urge you to put these SPACES in your week,

For The Road Less Traveled.

They say in that quote, taking that road less traveled, it made ALL THE DIFFERENCE.

The idea of serendipity, doing something NOT PLANNED makes you feel the most alive and adds discovery of who you really are. Like in art, do not fill up the page with every bit of pictures and words but LEAVE WHITE SPACE. Lots of space in the sky between stars you know.

Space just seems to make things look better. Life can look better with some SPACE you give yourself and not cramming things completely into 24/7 with all our technology gizmos that want you to fill out a schedule 7 am to 11 pm. CRAZY. Individual things are APPRECIATED more when they are not CRAMMED together.

The ideal life is where you leave some white space in it, go down some roads less traveled, doing each day maybe one or two or even three things that are interesting and memorable. I think those last two words are your key to finding that good feeling.

Making Connections to Success in Real Estate

Great advice Gary, especially in our days of hurry hurry hurry!  That certainly doesn't allow much time for spontaneity, which as you said is when we really feel alive!!  I love that picture!

I too take the road less traveled.

I like the back roads.

Not only are they good for your health, but in real estate they are great for your career. Opportunities are rarely found along the hi-way at 60 to 80+mph!

Gary, I agree. As far as business goes, I think schedules are there so we don't overbook ourselves, but as as far as recreational, "scheduling fun" isn't very fun.

I agree.  You never know when you run late, or a client decides to write on a property at that moment.

I make sure my time off is on my calendar and is immovable.  Of course, that's always when you get the call from the client!

That just happens to be one of my most favorite poems. I used to know all the words by heart but, now that I'm so much older, I can't seem to remember anymore.

Several years ago my husband took an early retirement, we sold our home and many of our earthly belongings and hit the road in an RV. We had no plan or schedule. Other than starting out northwest, all our days were filled with white space.

It sounds like a scary way to live but it was the most freeing time of our lives. No house, no debt, no responsibilities. We got up and went to bed when we wanted.

Some places we visited we stayed a month. Other places we visited, we stayed a day. Whatever hit our fancy. As a result, white space is important to me. Not every minute of every day is planned out. I fly by the seat of my pants and love it that way.

Gary, My favorite way to travel is to have a plan with some must dos and have pockets of time to freelance in to the unexpected. It is such fun to let yourself get caught by the wind.

Use some of that white space to take a few photographs on a photowalk through your community.

Have a wonderful weekend.
