So you want a lot of trees in your yard.

Real Estate Broker/Owner with WHISPERING PINES REALTY 20398180

Trees are great.  They provide shade, protection, homes for wildlife especially birds.

But there are also downfalls depending on your view.

Tall trees close to buildings can be a  detriment during storms.   Tree removal may also be expensive if one needs to be removed.

But the biggest complaint is the leaves.  A lot of trees means a lot of leaves, or in some cases pine needles.

Before deciding to have a lot of trees, remember there are also downfalls.  If you don't mind the extra work, you will be rewarded.

I don't mind the extra work of raking leaves and I plant my trees away from my house. I think having trees is worth the extra work.

William, in some states, trees within a certain distance of the structure can mean higher insurance rates as well.

Trees around a home can definitely cut down on utility costs monthly, by providing shade in the summer and a break against the winter wind.  But as you point out, all that comes with a downside.  Personally, I like taking the risk for the reward.

If the trees are taller than the home and too close, it can be a problem. It is costly to remove trees if need to.
