Halloween Decorations on a Budget
Halloween, in a sense, is like Christmas...you have to go all out on decorations or you're not doing a very good job. However, making your home a horror haven doesn't have to break the bank. In fact, many websites, such as Listotic, have plenty of Halloween decorations on a budget ideas so that anyone can create their very own haunted house.
Below are some of my favorites:
Monster Face Archway
While this project takes a little more elbow grease, and a ladder, than the previous one, the results are just as rewarding. Draw huge, monstrous eyes on a piece of cardboard, color it in and cut it out. Repeat with eye #2. Then draw scary-looking teeth and cut it out. Hang the teeth above your home's archway and the teeth below. Visitors will think they are entering the mouth of a monster for a scary, good time.
Halloween Window Silhouettes
If you have black construction paper, you can Halloween silhouettes. Simply get the shape you want, race it onto the construction paper and cut it out. Hang in your windows, sliding glass doors or the top of your front door and turn on the lights. It'll make your house into a house of horrors in no time.
There are plenty of ideas everywhere. To me, however, these three are the easiest and give you the most bang for your buck. Halloween decorations don't have to be expensive, they just require some materials and lots of creativity.
Bloody Hand Print Clings
It's amazing what a little Elmer's Glue and red food coloring can do to all the smooth surfaces in your house. Mix some glue with red food coloring, place your palm inside the mixture and then place your palm firmly on the surface you want the hand print on. Lots of fun for the kids, easy to clean up afterwards.
