Kentlands Fall Leaf Collections
The leaves are falling in Kentlands and it is time to do some serious raking for the Fall Leaf Collections. We usually put the leaves in Lawn and Leaf Bags that we purchase at the Lowe’s store in Kentlands. Those bags are picked up on Thursdays, the regular recycling days. The truck comes through to pick up Lawn and Leaf Bags earlier than the regular recycling bins collections.
If you have too many leaves for bagging, you should rake the leaves to the curbs of the public streets. The City of Gaithersburg leaf collections take place through December. The City leaf pick ups take place every 5 to 7 work days and usually on the regular Thursday recycling days in Kentlands. If you have any questions, please contact the City at 301-258-6370 or www.gaithersburgmd.gov. The city does not collect leaves from the mews and alleys.
The Kentlands Citizens Assembly also sponsors leaf collections that take place every two weeks. Again, rake the leaves to the curb. The KCA collections include the alleys.
Our experience is that the most reliable pick up schedule is on Thursdays and I personally recommend the use of Lawn and Leaf Bags that will be collected by the City recycling crews.
