Networking & Prospecting in your local market!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Classic III Realty

Well hello everyone!  I am sure you are all happy that the weekend is here!  Hopefully lots of buyers will be out and buying this weekend.  Just thought I would share my Fridays networking and prospecting experience with you.   The second Friday of each month we have a Womens Council of Realtors lunch and learn.  Todays subject was tax stategies.  I learned quite a few new ways to pay less to the IRS.  I will share that with you at another time.  What I would like to share tonight is the amount of networking that happens at each of our meetings.  Three of the agents that I talked to today set appointments to show a couple of my listings.  WOW!  During our slowest time last year most of my showings were from agents that I met at networking sessions.  Whether it is Womens Council or the Chamber of Commerce or the Business Women of the County you are expanding the possibility of getting your listings shown or finding someone who needs to buy or sell or has someone they know who needs your services.  You need to network more!  You need to prospect more! I love prospecting, It is unbelievable how many buyers and sellers you find just by asking for business.  I also spoke to a insurance agent today as well as bankers, title people, and home inspectors.  Get out there and make some contacts!  Have some fun doing it!

Hi Cheryl, I agree!  Networking is definitely very vital to the success of our business!  I'm a member of one of my local Chambers + a few other groups and will be joining WCR this year.  Keep up the great work and welcome to AR (I see you're fairly new here) :o)

Cheryl,

Sue J and I were just talking about this yesterday, about the importance of networking and prospecting. We came to the same conclusion...you have to ask... for the listing, referral,if someone is looking a home or the service of a Realtor. Great reminder of what we ARE to be doing!

Ray,

Thanks for the comment.  It is always good to be reminded.  Is your market heating up in Pine Bush? It looks like ours is finally moving a bit.  Take care!  Sell, sell, sell!

Cheryl,

It kind of ebs and flows, very busy a week ago, slower last week. Buyers are hard to move off the fence, they think tomorrow will be a better day, and they are missing good opportunities. It's a constant battle against the media negativity. Let's heat up the market!!! happy selling!

On one hand things are definitely starting off slow in Fairfield and the surrounding towns...on the other hand, we are no longer too busy to network...thanks for the reminder...Mike
