I would never put in multiple offers at the same time. I would never date two women at the same time. Well, I haven't dated anyone but my wife for 25 years, but when I dated it was always one at a time. I agree with Christi above that it is wrong. I have had it done to me and now I ask each Buyer's agent if they have other bids in. If they do I won't accept their bid. With low inventory the Seller can make the rules and dating two at the same time is wrong.
I always tell buyers who inquire about submitting offers on more than one listing simultaneously that it's not fair to sellers and could have ramifications for them as buyers. The possible ramifications could be another post!
Sharon - It's great to hear from like-minded agents. I think it's better to be straight with everyone than sorry.
Hi Jean - Excellent point. I happen to agree with you; however, many agents will put in offers on different homes and play the 'wait and see' game. Personally, I do not do this, either. Can't wait to see the discussion on this one. Good blog!
