There's No Place Like Home!
OK, when I initially saw this "No Place Like Home Contest" on Active Rain, I glanced at it and then went on to the next post. I had risen to the challenge in August Cloudburst contest but honestly, it was VERY time consuming and quite frankly, exhausting! Never say never but I decided to put contests on the back burner.
But I got to thinking about my home and what a great place it is. NOT because of the house, but what the home is made of.
My home is made of bricks and mortar and it sits on a nice sized lot that my kids and our dog can run around on, play baseball, football and hide and go seek with the neighbors kids and their dog!
In the back yard we have a cement pond where we have cookouts and the kids can have contests to see who can do the biggest cannon balls, or hold their 
breath the longest. Oh, not to mention a tattle tale or two for peeing in the pool!
Inside we have a big kitchen with lots of counter space to cook those big meals for family and friend get together's, especially around the holidays. Yummmmeeee!! Oh, and speaking of the good food, we have a large family room where we often gather on weekends to watch Netflix movies on the big screen, or lay around on our couches and doze while trying to watch football after a Thanksgiving feast! We've had many fun holidays in that room!
The rest of the house is very spacious for the kids and their friends to run around and act like nuts, including the dog! Upstairs we have a great big bonus room, where the kids and their friends camp out for weekend sleepovers, often staying up until the wee hours of the morning. Amazing how when you check on them and think they're asleep, you hear giggles after you close the door!
So that's my home in a nutshell, a place where we are making memories!
