I just came across this press release from Oct 31:
It’s been a difficult week for many of the landlords, property managers and Realtors of South Florida and as far north as Orlando. At the beginning of the week, in a very unexpected move, Craigslist banned nearly all forms of HTML from its listing sites in South Florida and Orlando.
As of this morning, this ban appears to have extended to all of Florida, meaning more bad news for real estate professionals across the sunshine state.
Real estate professions who are accustomed to courting new clients with flashy photo-laden ads are now scrambling to recover.
Robert Darrow, a Broker Associate with Keller Williams Realty, pointed to a fifty percent drop in his web traffic statistics over the last week. Unfortunately, Darrow doesn’t think most real estate professionals in Florida have really recognized the root of their troubles. “It’s like silent screams in the night,” he said.
Is anyone in the group experiencing this issue? What prompted the change? Is it temporary?
