Free Fall Leaf Coupon - Clark County, WA

LeavesIt's a windy weekend in Clark County. Leaves are blowing from the tree branches and piling up in our yards and streets. It's a recipe for street flooding, and that concern has prompted officials to encourage leaf clean-up and disposal.

Each year, crews clean up the city's more than 13,000 catch basins or storm water drains. In the process, they remove about 500 tons of leaves, sediment and other debris. Street sweepers can only push the leaves around, not vacuum up all of the leaves.

Disposal Coupon helps encourage residents to dispose of their fall leaves.

The City of Vancouver and Clark County officials offer a coupon that's good for FREE leaf disposal during the fall months. Property owners are responsible for ensuring that leaves from their trees are not blown or raked into the streets.

Other options include using the leaves as mulch around trees or in gardens, or using the Waste Connections yard debris collection service. Visit their website, or call 360-892-5370.

Use your coupon for leaf disposal in Clark County.

Free Fall Leaf Disposal Coupon

Use the coupon from Oct. 1 to Dec. 20, 2013, for free leaf disposal at City Bark, H&H Wood Recyclers, McFarlane’s Bark and West Van Materials Recovery Center. Only leaves - not other yard debris - may be disposed of as part of this free program for Vancouver and Clark County residents. A coupon is required; also look for fall leaf coupons in neighborhood newsletters and the curbside recycling newsletter.

If you're looking for a yard with trees in Clark County, WA, I'd love to be your guide.

I always like the free stuff as that is my favorite fee amount. Sounds like leaf removal is serious business in your area. Not so much here.

Hi Debb - That's a really great program and it makes a lot of sense for heavily treed urban areas. We're lucky here - the winds come along and move our few leaves on to Kansas :)

Bob - it's serious biz cause of all the rain during the fall/winter months. It really can create flooding issues.

Hi Dick. Hahaha. I like that plan.

What a good incentive to help encourage people to clean up those leaves. I'm pretty sure that after the wind we're having today, the final leaves are gonna be out of the trees & on the ground (or in the gutters).

Debb: That sounds like a good incentive for homeowners to get their leaves raked and bagged and take advantage of the free disposal.

Debb-This is a smart program because leaves in the road when wet make driving more dangerous.

Great program, and I also loved those time as a teen raking the lawn, making big piles and jumping into the leaves.  My father used them to compost his vegetable garden...A

Great idea to offer a coupon - folks are always more apt to stay up with something when there is a reward involved. Thanks for sharing

Good evening Debb-what a great program and a coupon is an incentive and a reminder to bag your leaves and dispose of them in an environmentally appropriate way!

Debb, it is a tough time of year to get the leaves picked up before they fly into someone else's yard.    I have had to mow vacuum up the leaves every other day.  Good news, almost all gone now.

Hi all, street flooding isn't a fun thing to deal with - and keeping these leaves out of our streets is a big job. This coupon program really does work to help folks manage the problem more easily. Thanks for each of your comments and the visit.
