Sugarloaf Mountain on a Beautiful Fall Day

By

Today, the intention was a to take a little day trip to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania for a little history lesson.  But between oversleeping and the telephone ringing, the morning got away.  So we scaled it back just a bit for an beautiful afternoon on Sugarloaf Mountain, north of Washington near Dickerson, Maryland.

The leaves were beautiful, and I noticed a few that I hadn't seen here in DC.  These were pull the car over and stop beautiful, a rich pink color that I hadn't seen in the city.

And while there are many wonderful views of Sugarloaf, the views from the top of this mountain are also quite amazing.

And if you go up there, lunch at the Comus Inn is just lovely.  You might need reservations, especially to sit in the sun-room overlooking Sugarloaf.

Helping make your real estate dreams a reality

Pat, one October a number of years ago, I hiked on your Sugarloaf Mountain with my sister-in-law who lives in Gaithesburg. I remember walking on a carpet of leaves so thick we had to look carefully to make sure we remained on the trail. For a California gal, the woods with their changing colors are memorable.

Pat, I remember going to a winery up 15, I think.  They pointed out Sugarloaf mountain from there.  How majestic it was.  You'll get to Gettysburg another day.  Loved the colors.

Good evening Patricia, looks like those pinks are so rich-they almost give Autumn a spring feel! This has been a gorgeous leaf season!

Pat: Great pink color of those leaves. When you see it, you need to take a photo for tomorrow it might be done from rain. I have always loved the changing of the colors, even though it means weinter is not far behond.
