This year over Thanksgiving I'm heading out on a Caribbean Cruise. It's less than three weeks away now and I definitely can't wait to step on that ship, turn off my cell phone and throw it in the safe in my room.
This will be the third cruise for my girlfriend and I. Funny story, I was completely against going on a a cruise for the longest time. I had no desire to be "stranded on a boat" for multiple days. Two years ago her parents gave us a free cruise that they couldn't use so I didn't have an excuse not to go. Five days on the Majesty of the Seas and I was hooked! Now it's the only way I want to go on vacation. I already have 2014 and 2015 cruises picked out too.
This year we've even convinced my mom to go along on the cruise. She loves to travel, especially to warm climates, and has never been on a cruise. I really think she'll love it since she'll get out of Pennsylvania in Novemeber/December and get to the warm winds of the Caribbean.
For this cruise we'll be heading out from New Jersey which makes it even better for me because I absolutely hate flying. Not the actual flying part but just the process of the airport. We'll have 9 days on the cruise which goes to Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Saint Thomas. We'll be cruising on the Explorer of the Seas through Royal Caribbean.
I've found that a cruise works really well for me because I'm able to just disconnect, turn off the phone and forget about my business for a week. My girlfriend loves it too because she actually gets me all to herself for a week with no real estate. It really helps me recharge my batteries to get back into the office and do a great job for my clients!
