Air Force Vs Army: Falcon Fans - Very Happy

College sports is one of the perks that comes along with living in Colorado Springs.   Colorado Springs is home to Air Force Falcons, Colorado College and University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

Last week, Air Force football fans were very unhappy.  Many left the stadium before the game ended.  Notre Dame beat them soundly.  Of course my son and all of the other Notre Dame fans were very happy. (ok,  I'll admit it.  I cheered for Notre Dame.  A lot of my money has gone to Notre Dame.)

Today was different.  Army and Air Force were better matched.   Fans from both sides had a great time.  Well, up until it was clear that West Point was losing.

I liked the West Point fans.  They were more like Texas Aggie fans.  They supported their team.  They didn't leave in mass when it looked like they might be losing.  (I'm still disappointed about how many Air Force fans left early last week.  Granted, the cadets stayed.)

Regardless, Air Force fans didn't leave today.   After every touch down, Falcon fans performed push ups.

They needed to see their team do well.

The Air Force Falcons delivered.  Final Score 42 - 28.

P.S.  I'd like to thank the group of girls that went to the game with me today.  It was a lot of fun.  I hope you got some great photographs.

That weather looked great for the Air Force - Army game Sondra and happy you and the girls had a fun outing. I have college football in my blood as you know and like watching all the games. The fair weather fan as you describe is disheartening to watch when a game gets lopsided, but there are a range of fans. I wish overall the service academies could have better athletes but perennially they don't seem to perform as well as the mainstream colleges, OR the athletes can't get in them or don't want the post graduate service commitment. By the way A&M won BIG Saturday. I think the UTEP fans stayed anyway at Kyle Field. Texas and our great football loving state. Excellent photos as always....
