Today, in many areas, was daylight savings. Time to Fall Back and head into the winter months. When we look at the clocks after this change we might feel excitement that we get an extra hour of sleep or an extra hour in the day to take care of our chores - but, what about our pets?
Did you know that dogs and cats become so accustomed to a feeding schedule that daylight savings time can really wreak havoc on their digestion systems and natural internal clock balance. Now, if you feed your dog or cat by leaving a bowl out during the day for their grazing pleasure, then the time change won't be very noticeable. However, if your pet is on a strict schedule of feeding then it is a good idea to try to accommodate for the change in time.

Many experts suggest that right after the time change you should slowly adjust your dog or cat into the "new" feeding schedule. For example, if your pup usually gets her dinner-time-chow at 6:00 PM, try to feed her at 5:15pm, then 5:30pm, then 5:45pm over the next few days; just like humans, this will give her the time to adjust.
My big puppy is ready to eat at any and all hours so I don't know that she is exactly worried about this change - hope your pets will sync with the time change just as well! Happy daylight savings!!!
