It's hard to accept, but temptations exist everywhere on earth.
I flipped through the pages of the Morgan Hill Times this afternoon enjoying photos and stories of recent events. One article jumped off the page. The title read, "Police looking for suspect in $3.5 million real estate scam" (emphasis added).
What?! In MY neighborhood?!!! Why, I otta . . .
I ought to write about it for people who may not read the local paper. So here's the scoop.
According to the newspaper who reportedly got their information from the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office, Terrence Brown (48) and Antranik Kabajouzian (35) are charged with multiple felonies regarding grand theft and securities fraud.
As I understand it, these two talked clients into investing in properties in other states, especially around Detroit. That's all well and good when it's on the up-and-up, but these particular properties apparently had issues. For example, some were condemned, more than one investor was given "title" to the same property, and some titles were never transferred at all.

The article says Antranik Kabajouzian is in custody but they're still looking for Terrence Brown so keep your eyes and ears open. You can call the hot-line, 855-350-7232 or inform local police if you have a good lead. That goes for additional victims too if you're out there.
The company (Bay Area Equity Group) website doesn't give any indication of troubles but then again it's probably tough to maintain your web presence when you're locked up or on the run.
There are no warnings I saw tied to the article so I'll share one of my own. Make sure the person you're dealing with is legitimate and qualified. If it sounds too good to be true . . . well, you know.
It's true that we need to keep care of our neighbors as well as ourselves. If you see or hear about a possible scam, please don't ignore it.
As always, let's foresee the possibilities . . . and get results!
