Cold weather preparations in Sandy UT

We made it to 40F today with a promise of 26F tonight in Sandy UT. Tomorrow promises a few degrees less.

Definitely a test for winter. A time to check more substantial clothing and for special contents of my chair bag.

Because I move little more than my right thumb, I do not generate enough body heat to keep me comfortable during sudden temperature plunges.

My bag has space blankets and a supply of hand and body warmers. It's amazing how even one warm pocket can be quite comforting overall. Lighting is becoming more miniaturized. It is not hard to imagine me as a mobile Christmas tree.

I intend to be active in all extremes. I always hope for the easiest; but plan for most difficult situations.

My wife is more solicitous of my welfare, trying to get me to carry a conventional blanket as well. If I went out with all her suggestions of tentage and food, then my forward motion would be severely restricted. Both of us are aware that batteries can act oddly in severe weather changes.

My van as well as my chair contains a pack of similar survival gear.

All is checked and ready.

Larry, glad you are prepared for the colder weather. Myself, I like the milder climate of Florida where extreme cold is defined as the 50's. Enjoy your day!

Bob - snow is good. Makes everything so-o tidy.

Roger - I'm sure you will to get to share some too.

Wayne - nice to know where we can retreat to. Sounds like my former home in Queensland, Australia.

Sheila - I'm up for any challenge. Last ten years without legs has been most exciting, defining part of my life. I enjoy every day.
