EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE TODAY 11-5-13!!!!

 

There are reports on various TV channels that voting is light across the U.S.  You may think this election is not an important because, you are not voting for Governor (except Virginia and New Jersey),Congressmen, Senators and/or President.  Every election is important.  So American Flagmuch blood has been shed over the years to keep us free.  If you do not vote, you dishonor those who have shed their blood and/or risked their lives for us.  My 92 year old dad, a proud marine who fought in the South Pacific in WWII (Peleliu, Okinawa,etc.) made me understand how important it is to vote, long before I was old enough to vote.  Did I vote?  You bet.  So, if you have not voted, you have plenty of time to do so!!!

Pat and Steve, voting is something I take very seriously and did it first thing this morning.  I can not understand why some do not take advantage of one of the most precious rights that we have.

Pat, if the public doesn't get out and vote, they have no right to complain.   It is our right!   I mailed my ballot last week.

The reports indicated that many of the elections had low voter turnouts. How sad that is. To me voting is a responsibility I take seriously.

I voted while out for a walk in our Kentlands neighborhood. We had a low turn out because the candidates were unopposed in the Gaithersburg City Elections.

Voting feels good after you pull open the curtain and walk to the machine that logs in, adds your vote, voice to importaqnt issues. It is a right we should not waste. Apathy is a disease no one wants to catch. Teach your kids to vote. Take them with you....to see it is a habit, what you do as an adult, tax payer, property owner.

Andrew,thanks you for your comment.  When our children were young, we did take them to the voting booths to watch us vote.  Now, they are adults voting they know how important voting is.

We didn't have voting in our district, Pat. But I know that elections are light. Too bad people don't realize that if you don't vote, don't complain.

Connie, thanks so much for your comment.  Although we cover Northeast OH, our main focus is Westlake, where we have resided for 30 yrs.  And, we did have a good turnout in Westlake.
