Finally, some great news for the Mesa, Arizona economy! Apple just announced that they are buying a vacant factory belonging to First Solar in East Mesa and leasing it to GT Advanced Technology. GT will be manufacturing sapphire glass components for Apple products.
This is huge! It is estimated that it will create 700 permanent factory jobs. In addition, it will create 1300 construction-related jobs to convert the factory for GT.
As a Mesa, Arizona realtor, I couldn't be happier! More jobs means more home buyers. More home buyers means more demand and more demand means Mesa will continue to sustain the upward trend in home values. Good news, Mesa!!
