Those who spent time in Daytona Beach area, probably ventured south on A1A (Atlantic Ave) to its southernmost point ending in Lighthouse Park, and then drove on Peninsula Avenue past our stunning Lighthouse, marinas, waterfront restaurants and then magnificent mansions, dotting the shores of Halifax River, noticed and liked this part of greater Daytona Beach. It is so close to all the buzz, yet quiet and laid back as if i is world away…
It is a quaint town of Ponce Inlet with hardly 3,000 residents. No businesses except for
waterfront restaurants and marinas, no hotels and motels, very few transients… And unquestionably the best beaches in Daytona area…
The latest massive (over 600 units) 172-acre condo development spanning from the ocean to the Intracoastal was completed in 2004. 7-story towers in The Links at Harbour Village were the last medium height buildings in Ponce Inlet as since then the height limit is 35’, and considering that there is not much vacant land left, it means that no new condo developments are coming to Ponce Inlet.
From the market point of view, this is similar to Key West, where to build a new home you have to buy and tear down the existing one, and this drives prices up. Of course, in Ponce Inlet you can still find vacant land, but these are scattered lots and their number is shrinking.
