Should I list my home during the Holidays?

This question comes up every year in the Fall, as owners try to decide when is the best time to put their homes on the market.

Here are a few reasons why listing your home right now just may be a great idea for you.

1. The warmth of Holiday decorations lend an inviting air to any home marketed during this festive time of year.

2. There are less buyers on the market this time of year, but the ones who are looking are serious. Many of them hope to close by the end of the year.

3. Interest rates just took a dip in the last few weeks, and this has prompted some buyers off the fence to buy a home before they rise again. 

Historically, December has been one of our highest volume months. Don't let anyone tell you nobody is buying a home this time of year because it just isn't true. Especially here in Florida, there are buyers all year round.

Sharon this is probably the most common question sellers and potential sellers want to know, the agents who do not have the skills or the motivation to work during the holidays will take an opposing view! I am so for listing and selling during the holidays...because you only have serious buyers and sellers...the rest are on holiday:), Endre

I ABSOLUTELY agree, it takes an average of 9 showings to get an accepted offer in the spring and fall and 3 in the winter. Less showings mean less inconvenience. You stated the major reasons, less on the market and less "tire kickers" for buyers. Make it nice, show it whenever you can, if you have a party or family gathering let your showing service know in advance and that will help the lookers.
