Google Plus Now Offers Personal URLs

6:13 and I've already learned something new thanks to Active Rain and Phillip's very informative post.  Still have not gotten my own URL but will be making it my attention to do so and to spend more time on Google#.

Happy Day

For those of us not monogomous with Facebook or Twitter as our social network, Google Plus has been a nice change of pace. I don't get nearly the engagement and interaction on Google as I do elsewhere, but I like dropping in more often than not, and the real estate communities there are strong. Many have a love/hate relationship with the platform, for various reasons, but I think we can all admit that if G+ were not around that Facebook would not have made many improvements over the years. For that alone, I am grateful.

One pet peeve of mine about Google+ has been the long url needed to get to my profile. A few workarounds have been made, but none have been sanctioned by Google and it has been a handicap.

Those days are over. When I logged on tonight, I got the long awaited message that a personalized URL is now available.

Hurray!

I didn't get an opportunity to get a custom URL, so there was no chance to edit it to another user name beside what is essentially the first half of my gmail identity, but that is fine. Plus.google.com/+JPhilipFaranda is FAR preferable to the indecipherable and nearly impossible to convey gibberish we have all endured the past 2 years.

Even if you don't frequent the network, it is worth getting your URL updated and checking out the various real estate groups there. We can get overloaded on social networks for sure and choices have to be made, but our online assets should be up to date.

Why are you still here? Go do it.
