There is no model at Shaker Knolls, so I went out to Hamilton to visit the community out there, look at the model and find out some additional information about the neighborhood.
Shaker Knolls homes feature the Classic Brick Front, stoop, steps and walkway and a 3 car side-load garage. The ceilings on the first level are between 9 and 11 feet, based on the model chosen. All lower level and second floors feature 9' ceilings. The kitchens have stainless appliances and granite counters. All homes have three-piece crown molding, two piece chair rail and custom shadow box trim. CARRHomes provides an impressive list of standard features with each and every one of its homes.
Although this community is located off a quiet street in Herndon, it feeds into the Langley pyramid (Langley High School, Cooper Middle, Forestville Elementary).
The three models at Shaker Knolls are the Oakton, Lancaster and Pinehurst (first floor master suite).Prices begin at $1,134,900 and some lots do require premiums.
If you like the the idea of these homes but want either a lower base price or you prefer a larger 3-acre lot, you might want to consider the neighborhood, Waterford Creek, in Hamilton, VA. Waterford Creek has 29 lots, of which 15 wooded lots are currently released for purchase. Carr Homes just broke ground this week on an available 'Oakton' home site, which will be completed in early Spring.
The base price for the homes in Waterford Creek begin at $774,900. Currently, all homes in this community include a free Walkout Basement and finished Recreation Room with Full Bath, according to their literature.
Waterford Creek will be served by WoodGrove High School, Harmony Middle School and Waterford Elementary School.
