Many of the states including Minnesota have been affected!
Have you checked your active Craigslist ads lately? Agents who post HTML code to market their listings have had their ads go dark or blank across many of the states in the country. Of course the paid ads utlizing html code did not go dark indicating that Craiglist will most likely be moving to a revenue generating option for those wishing to continue to market their listings in an enhanced html format.
However subtle and without warning; the changes made by Craiglist have affected agents digital marketing platforms and even their SEO and lead generating strategies associated with the denial of all enhanced ads and links associated with those ads.
There are a few primary ways that companies such as Postlets and vFlyers will continue to accomplish the same purpose of enhanced ads only from the standpoint of their syndication to other areas (except for Craigslist) such as: Zillow, Backpage, ByOwnerMLS2, Enormo, FrontDoor, Local.com, Lycos, Oodle, Trulis, Hot Pads, MSN and Yahoo Real Estate.
There are a few subtle differences agents can help make their ad and their brand stand out in the plain white generic format that Craiglist now allows for free; however agents should re-visit their digital marketing habits/plan going forward.
Personally, I'll be utilizing Active Rain and our Integrated Blog Platforms our agents have within our Websites.
