Veteran’s Day is coming this Monday, November 11th! It’s a federal holiday for those of you who serve (or have served) in our Nation’s Armed Forces, THANK YOU!  Without you and your family’s dedication and service, we would not enjoy the freedoms we have today.  As a special thanks to you, many restaurants and businesses are offering discounts this coming weekend.  This is not for everyone just those SUPER HEROES who serve and have served our country! But for all us regular folks some of us get the day off and kids don’t have school, YAY!

Here is our round-up of a few and again Thank You!

Nation-Wide Restaurants

Applebee’s

On Veteran’s Day, November 11th, veterans and active duty military enjoy a free signature entree at all Applebee’s.  Dine-in from limited menu only.  Must show proof of military service.

Bob Evans Restaurants

This Veterans Day, Bob Evans Farms salutes service to country with a hearty plate of hotcakes. The company announced today that veterans and active military personnel will receive free all–you-can-eat hotcakes at its restaurants on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11.  All these honored servicemen and women need do is show a valid military ID.

California Pizza Kitchen

On November 11th, all veterans and active military will receive any pizza from their menu.  Dine-in only.  Come in uniform or bring your military ID/proof of service.  Offer valid at participating locations.

Carrabba’s Italian Grill

Between November 9th through 11th, all active and retired veterans can enjoy a free appetizer at Carrabba’s. Choose from any of their hand-prepared appetizers, like their Calamari or Bacon & Caramelized Onion Flatbread. It’s their way of saying thank you for serving our country.  With proof of service; military ID or in uniform.

Champps Americana 

On November 11th (all day), veterans and active military will receive a FREE handcrafted burger and fries (limited menu selections).  Limit one burger per person.  Must show proof of service.  Dine-in only.  There are a few locations who are not participating – be sure to check the flyer for more information!

Chili’s

On November 11th, all veterans and active military personnel will receive a free entree (from a select menu).  Dine-in from a limited menu.  Just show proof of service.

Denny’s

To thank America’s heroes for their endless dedication and service, Denny’s is giving away never-ending stacks of its famous buttermilk pancakes to active, inactive and retired military personnel on Monday, Nov. 11.  From 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. at all participating Denny’s restaurants nationwide, diners with a valid military ID will receive free all-you-can-eat pancakes, complete with warm maple syrup and whipped butter. {Special thanks to their PR company for sending me the information!}

Golden Corral

All military service members and veterans are welcome to join Golden Corral’s Free Military Dinner on November 11th, from 4:00-9:00 PM.

Krispy Kreme

Present your military ID or wear your uniform on November 11th to receive a doughnut and small coffee at Krispy Kreme.  No purchase necessary.  No coupon required.

Lone Star Steakhouse

On Veteran’s Day, November 11th, enjoy Buy 1 entree, Get 1 Free at Lone Star Steakhouse, when you present the coupon and proof of service.

McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood and Steaks

On Sunday, November 10th (the day before Veteran’s Day), all McCormick locations are offering Veterans a complimentary meal (from a select menu).  All veterans must show official verification.  Entrees must be enjoyed at the restaurant.

Olive Garden

Current military service members and veterans receive a FREE Entree on November 11th, with proof of service or Veteran status, and current military families will also receive 10% off their bill.

On the Border

Veterans with military ID or proof of military service receive a FREE Create Your Own Combo entrée (Choose 2 or Choose 3 options). Valid on Monday 11/11/13 only. Dine-in only.

Outback Steakhouse

Military Personnel with valid ID will receive a FREE Bloomin’ Onion and Coca-Cola beverage on November 11, 2013.  Also, between November 12-December 31, 2013, Outback Steakhouse is offering a Military Mates 10% OFF discount  to any Military Personnel with valid ID.

Red Robin

In honor of Veterans Day, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc. (Red Robin)* is giving away one free Tavern Double burger to each veteran or active duty  military guest who shows their military ID, proof of service or who are in military uniform on Monday, Nov. 11.

Starbucks

On this Veterans Day—a free tall brewed coffee for veterans, active duty military and their spouses in participating U.S. company-owned stores. We invite all of our customers to join us in sharing our heartfelt appreciation to those who serve. #thankavet

Texas RoadHouse

On November 11th, Texas Roadhouse is offering all veterans and service members a FREE lunch from their special Veteran’s Menu.  Dine-in only.  Must show your server proof of military service.

TGI Fridays

On Veteran’s Day, all veterans and active military will receive a FREE lunch at participating TGI Fridays.  Be sure to call your location to verify that they are participating.

Nation-Wide Businesses

Bed, Bath, and Beyond

Between November 9-11, U.S. military personnel and veterans will receive 20% off their entire in-store purchase at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  Just show a valid form of ID.

Food Lion

On Monday, November 11th, active, retired, and honorably discharged military personnel receive 10% off their entire shopping trip when they show their military ID and MVP card.  See your local store for more details. {Deal found in weekly ad!}

JCPenney’s

This Veteran’s Day, JCPenney’s salutes all current and former military personnel and family members of active duty, reserves, guard, and retirees.  Enjoy an extra 20% off your purchases between November 6-11.  Just show military ID.

National Parks

This weekend, November 9-11, all U.S. National Parks are waiving their entrance fees in honor of Veteran’s Day!  This applies to everyone, not just military!  To find a park near you, click here.

Washington, DC-Area Promotions

B&O Railroad

Salute the military and veterans at the B&O! Join us for special living history presentations by members of the 4th Infantry Division Military Police Unit on our WWII Troop Sleeper. Vintage military vehicles will also be on display. Veterans with military identification receive FREE admission on these two event days.

Glory Days Grill

On November 11th, with proper ID, veterans will enjoy a free appetizer, or order of 6 traditional wings, or 8 boneless/grilled wings.

Massage Envy

Virginia State Parks

Governor McDonnell announced that parking will be free on November 11th at all Virginia State Parks.  This offer is valid for everyone – not just military!  There will also be lots of great programming for the whole family.

Yet....it is sad that their require ID...

Hi Margaret, I'm glad you read my blog post and I hope you could get in on some of the deals or pass the information on to someone who could.

Captain Wayne Rowlett, I agree I thought it was awesome that so many business were honoring our Vets. I think they should be celebrated more often.

Inna, it is absolutely great what business are doing but I guess to keep everybody honest they thought it would be best to show ID.
