3 Fun Things to Do on Sunday in Kansas City - November 11, 2013
We all know that Kansas City has many things to do - if you look. Just tomorrow on November 10th, I noticed that there were several things to do. I picked 3 of ones that I thought were most fun.
I recently heard from someone with the Kansas City Convention and Visitors Association (CVA) that people who check out their website - typically visitors coming into town, are pleasantly surprised with the amount of activities in our fun and busy city. We have some of the friendliest people and many of our great and unique businesses offer a variety of experiences - with a little something for everyone. The CVA says that many of our own citizens don't know what's going on in our city. We may be like most local citizens in wonderfully busy cities, we take our activities for granted. Well, I want to change that. At least for this weekend!
Lucky for us, it is also Veterans Day weekend. Many businesses and tourist sites have planned some fun activities, or have specials (food and retail) for our Veterans who have served, or continue to serve.
Here are my 3 picks:
1. 10:00am-4:00pm. Vintage vehicles will be on display outside the Liberty Memorial, home of the World War I museum benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project.
1:00pm- A World War I expert will be giving a free lecture on the Batte of the Main. Get more details from the Kansas City Convention and Visitors Association website.
2. Okay, we have soccer for you with our 2013 Big 12 Soccer Tournament at the new Swope Soccer Village at Swope Park. This is a first for Kansas City. Check out the details here.
3. For the kids, Kaleidoscope in Crown Center welcomes the kids - with free admission. Get the scoop here.
So, pick one thing to do - there's something for everyone - and explore the many things to do in Kansas City - not only this weekend, but every weekend.
