Central New York Snow Storm

WOW!!!

Just wanted to post a few local pictures from our lastest snow storm.  So far Oswego NY has gotten 50 inches in 4 days.  YES 50 inches.  Living in this area you are used to getting snow.  But WOW!  It is hard to believe that only 4 weeks ago us Central New Yorkers were complaining that we had not had any snow yet this season and we missed it.  Well I guess you should watch what you wish for.  LOL!!

Our area is a great place for skiing & snowmobleing in the winter.  As you can tell.  Spring bring wonderful spring flowers, summer months, we have local lakes that have great fishing & boating, NY State Fair, & Syracuse Nationals Classic Car Show (1 of the largest on east coast).  Fall time brings apple & beautiful fall colors that will take your breath away.  If you ever get a chance to come to Central New York, it has a lot to offer!

Central NY is a great place to call home.

Wow, Roberta that is awful. Great photos and I am sure glad it wasn't down here. That's a lot of snow in a few days. Stay warm and I hope you didn't lose power during that storm. I'll bet you never thought it would end. Is this the storm they said had lake affect snow. Near Buffalo??

OMG, this is unbelievable. How do you stand it? Did you grow up here or did you choose to live here? LOL!

This is the Lake Effect off Lake Ontario.  In the middle of the state just north of Syracuse.  Buffalo is west of here about 3 hours away.  You can tell we are getting a lot of snow when the Weather Channel does a live broadcast!!!  And I was born in this area and decided to live here because I love it, but sometimes wonder why!!  LOL

Roberta we were in Henderson Harbor over the 4th of July last yr. I thought it was beautiful country. We went to the Boldt Castle on Hearts Island and took a cruise around the Islands. It was awesome.

All over the news here every hour. Unbelievable...

It can get pretty dangerous just driving around the streets I'm sure. Where are you putting all that snow? I'll bet you can't even shovel it anymore. I'm sure we'll hear about roof collapses if people don't get up there and relieve the weight.

Stay warm and dry.

Things are not getting any better, got 18 inches of snow today and expecting another lake effect storm Friday & Saturday.  There has been a few roof collape, many people who live here know to shovel off roofs but some just cannot do it themselves.  Believe it or not it does melt.  But this year there will be floods in the spring if it thaws to quickly.  I will make sure I post pictures of the spring.  Thanks for everyones comments and concerns.

Just stumbled onto this blog while I was searching for AR bloggers in the Rome, NY area (my hometown). I had to shutter when I saw these very familiar pictures which brought back some not so pleasant memories of winters in Rome.  I am now in Myrtle Beach which has a completely different weather pattern - one that suits me better.  Thanks for the pictures, though.  It's fun to see what use to be...
