Last night when I was helping my husband sort junk in HIS barn (it's only mine when it's clean...) I was roped into sorting 4 million random screws, nails, washers, bolts, hooks, gizmos, etc. that he has been tossing into a tote over the years when he finds them in his coat pocket after contracting jobs. He used one of his clever tricks of complimenting me so I'll do a job he hates and even though I can smell out his technique, I always fall for it. So, "hey honey, you are so good at organizing, would you like to help me get some stuff in order?" was all it took. And a glass of wine. And an eye-roll from me.
As I was looking for a container to store roofing screws and light fixture screws and concrete nails, I came across a tiny wadded up piece of paper I almost threw away (cause there were about 300 wadded up pieces of paper tossed in with this tote...) Instead I opened it up and found this:
It was a fortune cookie note I had taped to my refrigerator about 13 years ago, just before I met my husband. Appearantly after we started dating, he took it off my fridge and was carrying it around in his pocket. How it ended up in this tote, surviving 6 moves and endless constructions projects, I'll never know. But, here it is again. For me. For you.
Have a fabulous week!
