Wordless Wednesday: Beach Butterflies

beach butterflies: marketing luxury real estate

Ron and I love picking up these shells on Sandyland Beach in Carpinteria.  They look like butterflies in the sand. Both sides are still attached, which means these were opened recently by the various birds.  Sandpipers and the curlews dig in the sand for them.  The colors are varied, and we are always delighted to see a new variation.

Do you think they look like butterflies?

Happy Wednesday, Cheers, Ron & Alexandra

Debbie collects beautiful shells found along the shores.  She has shells from her childhood on display and even has some framed.

This pic so reminds me of my days in "clamdiggers" as a kid down the shore.  Hello R & A, your Sandyland Beach appears to be healthy from the looks of these babies.

Yes they do but I have never seen so many attached. You must have gotten they right after the grand openings.

They are beautiful... the shells do look like butterflies. I especially like the little light brown one with white stripes and the gray one with two white stripes.

Hi Alexandra and Ron -- okay, I can see how you think of butterflies but to me ---- I see bow tie pasta.

If I lived near the shore I would have a collection that wouldn't slow down.  Sigh

Wherever we live, the beauty of nature is there if we only look.  Of course, in California you don't have to look very hard  : )

Yes, they do. My son and I collected these on the east coast of Florida when he was young.

Hi Alexandra, I guess they resemble butterflies but being shells that are beautiful in themselves would be good enough for me.

Your shells are beautiful and yes they do look like beach butterflies. I love going to the beach and walking in the sand. Have a great weekend.

John,

I have thought about franing or doing something with them, however inspiration has not come my way, because I want to do something that has not been done.

Kevin, Our waters are very clear.

Last week Ron and I had a bottle of water while walking on the beach.  When we finished it, Ron went over to the waves and filled it up.  Except for the sand at the bottom, the water was crystal clear.  We all in CA have put so much into restoring the ocean, and we know there is room to go, and it is great to see the progress.

Silvia,

I see them that way too.

Myrl,

I sure know it, and I thank my lucky stars daily.

Debbie,

Around dinnertime, it is always grand opening as you put it,

Sussie,

They are wonderful, and those two are so unusual.

Rebecca,

Thanks for your comment

Michael,

I can see that, or are you hungry?

James,

I don't know what to do with it, need some ideas.  I am collecting sand dollars for my retirement fund...LOL

Dianne,

I love looking for it, like the rose bush that was growing in the bleakest part of LA

Toni,

What a great memory

William,

I agree, they are individually beautiful

Lisa,

Thanks,, it was Ron's suggestion that I display them on something black (my mouse pad) LOL

Kristin,

Thanks, A

When we lived at the beach, I was always collecting shells. I usually had a plastic bag in my pocket when I walked the beach.
