30 Days to a better ME

I recently ran across an article entitled 30 Things to Stop Doing to Yourself  written by Marc Chernoff on his blog http://www.marcandangel.com/ .

After reading it I decided I would make a post each day in the next 30 day month, so this series began the first of November.  My thought I would break the list out to one a day and focus on that for each day.  If you missed the earlier posts, you can still catch them on my blog.

I also prefer to phrase things in the positive, so planned to take the DON’T and put it in the form of a DO.  However, as I began to start this “series” I found that the author had just posted a follow-up to the original article in the affirmative as I had planned, so I am sharing both the “DON’T” and the “DO”.  Links to the original articles are included in this post so if you just can’t wait for the dispensing of one a day, feel free to enjoy the wisdom of Marc all in one sitting if you choose, or follow along with me for the next 30 days.

from the DON’T list

Stop being jealous of others.

Jealousy is the art of counting someone else’s blessings instead of your own.  Ask yourself this:  “What’s something I have that everyone wants?”

from the DO list

Start cheering for other people’s victories.

Start noticing what you like about others and tell them.  Having an appreciation for how amazing the people around you are leads to good places – productive, fulfilling, peaceful places.  So be happy for those who are making progress.  Cheer for their victories.  Be thankful for their blessings, openly.  What goes around comes around, and sooner or later the people you’re cheering for will start cheering for you.

I just jumped over and read both of those list. I loved them.  I have two teenagers and I will be sharing this with both of them.  I love the do and the don't list.  Great food for thought and a great way to start my Saturday.  thank you
