Wordless Wednesday - The Frog

~ WORDLESS WEDNESDAY ~

I like to have fun when I'm out showing properties. One of the things I like to do, is to take photographs of odd/strange things I see while I'm out.  Here is a photo I took at a property.  Sometimes I wonder what the sellers are thinking.  To some buyers, some of the things I have seen can be a real turn off to the property and really sway the buyers away from purchasing the house.

This photo is not the case.  But it was strange enough that I took a picture of this albino frog.  Would it turn you away from purchasing the house?  The buyers did not purchase this house, not because of the frog, but because it just wasn't what they were looking for.   It was the topic of conversation for awhile.

What's the strangest thing you have ever seen while showing properties?

I always bring the camera to capture some different. Of course never a photo of personal stuff, but interesting and fun is always welcomed.

Did not have my camera with me...but Saturday I went to show a home that had a very large pet pig sitting on the front porch. Thank goodness it was friendly!!

We went in the attic room of a home - it shared the upstairs loft space with a bedroom.  We walked in and started to have a conversation when I realized there was an aquarium behind my clients that was full of scrambling mice and there was an aquarium behind me with a huge snake.  We got our butts out of there asap!

Hi Dawn, One of the funkier homes I've shown looked like it was totally wransacked inside with clothes  everywhere! The first thing we encountered when entering was a chair with dirty bras and underwear laying all over the floor and chair. YUCK! Needless to say, we didn't stay too long in that home.

Dawn~ I would worry (as the listing agent) about the tank smelling. What's the weirdest thing...a miniature John Deere tractor collection!

Well, an albino frog isn't a protected class, so even if they did turn the house down due to the frog . . . it's perfectly okay!    I have had some clients would would WANT to buy a house from a home owner who had an albino frog!

Hi Dawn, I would have to say a room full of snakes in glass fish tanks with simple screen covers. The Buyers nor I were very much interested in them and made our way out rather quickly, LOL

Janis ~ I will only take a photo of something that is odd, nothing personal.

Jim ~ a pet pig?  When you set the showing, did they let you know there would be a oig?

Kat ~ I would have been right behind you or maybe in front of you....not sure who would be faster.  lol

Cindy ~ I think I showed that same home!  There were clothes left on the stairs as if they were stripping on the way up.

Jeff ~yeah, yeah.....so I've been told.

Donna ~ how miniature?  kid size or toy size?

Carla ~ the house they bought fit them to a T, and no albino frog.

Dawn, didn't you publish another post not too long ago with a "dead" frog?  What is it with you and frogs?  Anyway, the strangest thing that was left out for me to find at a showing was...ah...err...well...an adult toy!

Hi Dawn,

I do that too...I always have my iPhone or iPad with me and a camera or two in the car so when I see something interesting, I take pictures. I wonder sometimes what my buyers think but they know I love nature and the environment. So anyone who knows me is not surprised with a camera hanging on my neck.

I love your frog and it was a great find. Showing property is just full of surprises and fun.

Nick ~ I did post something earlier about a frog.  Here's Your Sign about a frog we found in new construction, but the frog was alive.  Shame on the seller for leaving toys like that out!

Kristin ~ stay tuned for more of the strange things I have encountered when showing houses.  I'm going to be writing more posts about this.

Dawn~ They were displayed on a bookcase. Appropriate for a collection, but distracting.

Donna ~ it's a good thing they weren't child size.  They would have probably needed their own room!
