How to Rank in the Search Engines (Recording of Boot Camp Class One)

In the first class of the ActiveRain Blogging Boot Camp series, we dive into Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Community Evangelist Bob Stewart breaks down what you need to do on your blog posts so they have the best chance of ranking in the search engines. When writing blog posts for the public your goal should be to rank on the first page of the search engines so prospects find you.

In addition to the recording, you get action items with an SEO checklist for you to complete and reference for future blog posts. Make sure you put your newly learned skills into action on your blog!

Good stuff Bob.  I like see the logs of clicks and reminder that the numbers keep growing over time with an evergreen post.  I am going back on a few posts to make some small adjustments.

I have to say that with the utmost of respect, Katrina Benton, does not have a lot of competition.  There are only 515 agents total on AR in all of Alaska.   In California there are 36,891 and ranking in a more populated area is much, much harder.  I've done all of the things that Katrina Benton has done for years and do not get 40 lead a month from blogposts.....

Do me a favor and send me 4 of your posts that you have written about subdivisions and condo complexes in your market and I would be happy to take a look at them and see if there is anything you can do to increase the number of leads that you are getting.

There are a lot of subtle nuances to what Katrina does and she also does it at a very high volume. She has written 230 posts in the last nine months that are all about something very specific in her market. She has covered every single subdivision and condo complex that she hopes to sell in. She has also written variations like homes for sale near certain schools in her market. Those posts generate a number of leads every month. She has taken what I teach and put it on steroids.

Like I said, email me your posts and I'll take a look.

Bob I'm going through and reviewing this series and may ask you to kindly do the same for me as for Jane. California is definitely a competitive state.

I tried to post my firs blog today and when I was ready to post it, I was given only two visibilty options to post to... "draft or members only". How can I get the "public" option added to my posts?
