Rites Of Passage: Growing Up, Sleeping Late and Avoiding The Dishes!

Ok, I have to admit, I’m getting really excited!  Why?  Well, thank you for asking.  Let me tell you!

As many of you know, our oldest daughter, Moriah, is in the Navy. A Hospital Corpsman, she is currently assigned to the USS Theodore Roosevelt which is based out of Norfolk, Virginia.  I’m excited because we are going to go and spend Thanksgiving at HER place!  

Although I’m a little apprehensive, I’m sure it’s all part of the normal progression of time when the parents start to go to the “kids” house for holidays.  I plan on sleeping late while she does all the chopping, baking and cooking.  I’ll wander into the kitchen and whine because the food isn’t ready and turn my nose up at green beans.  After dinner I’m sure I’ll have to disappear “just long enough” for someone else to do the dishes.  After all, isn’t this what I learned from her?  

All kidding aside, we are very proud of her! Of the beautiful woman she has become.  Of the sacrifice she is making for the country she loves.
