Whether you are buying or selling a home, thera are a few important things you need to consider. There are the obvious things like, where are you going to live? What neighborhood do you want to belong in? How many bedrooms? How many bathrooms? Does it have a multiple car garage? Or just a car port?

All of these thing are important to think about. There is something most people tend to forget about. They tend to forget about caluclating what their monthly mortgage cost will be. How do you know what kind of house can you afford if you don't look at a mortgage calculator? You can review one of those here: http://search.realscottsdalerealestate.com/idx/mortgage

This will do a couple of things for you. It will force you to look at interest rates. It will force you to consider how many years you want your mortgage to be. It will force you to think about down payment AND your tax rate.

Once again, it will most importantly make you think about what your monthly costs will be. What will your mortgage cost per month?

Think about this in detail. If you have any real estate questions, please don't hesitate to reach out or call us.

Jeffrey,

I agree, people should use the mortgage calculator even if they have gone to a lender and gotten prequalified. They can determine payment differences with the length of the mortgage. Helps people think about how much they can comfortably afford in their real world budget not what the bank says they can afford according to their income. It best to go with an amount that you're comfortable with.
