Chicago Lake Front All The Way From Huntsville Alabama
Chicago
This post has absolutely nothing to do with Huntsville Alabama real estate, but my good friend Steve up in Chicago Illinois sent me a couple of photos
of his view of Lake Michigan from his lake front condo. Not only has he managed to make me miss all my friends in Chi-Town even more than I thought possible including Chicago itself and all there is to do there. The beaches, canals, the Chicago River, Deep Dish Pizza, Italian beefs, Marie's, Greek Town, China Town, way too many restaurants to list, Lincoln Park, the museums, The Art Institute, Grant Park, Second City, Old Town, University of Chicago, The Bean, Montrose Harbor, Foster Avenue Beach, Wrigley Field, Soldier Field, Rush Street, Oak Park and all those Frank Lloyd Wright homes, Tenshinkan Dojo, Sunday morning rides with my riding buddy and the long motorcycle rides to wherever, Quick treks to Lake Geneva, The Mail Run, Lake tours, my home in Woodstock, the Woodstock
Square where they filmed "Groundhog Day"...yes I miss it all and so very much more. Of course, ask me how much I miss it a couple of months from now when the temps are well below 0 degrees and the Hawk is kicking up sending the wind chill way into negative territory and there's a foot or so of snow on the ground that muffles every step with a deafening silence....chances are the answer won't change all that much! Of course, these top two photos from Steve are a reminder of how beautiful Chicago can be in the summer time.
Huntsville Alabama
It isn't that Huntsville does not have a lot to offer because it does, however, most people have no clue that Huntsville or Madison Alabama even exists let alone what goes on here. Madison is a relatively young city that mostly sprang up because of all the people moving here from other parts of the country and world to work directly with the space program and for NASA or indirectly working for many of the high tech supporting companies engaged with NASA. It's estimated that 80% of Madison residents are from somewhere else. There is also a large
military presence here thanks to the Redstone arsenal where many of my clients work and contribute to our countries security and of course areas supporting the space program. Huntsville is not nearly as large as Chicago, but it is growing quickly and has been ever since NASA and the space program planted roots here and Wernher von Braun brought his German scientist. The International Space Station is monitored here from the Marshall Space Flight Center and many rockets have be developed, built and tested here. Many people I know have worked on and supported the Space Shuttle Program when it existed here in Huntsville Alabama.
Okay, I said this post has nothing to do with Huntsville Alabama real estate, however, if you live in the Chicago area or anywhere for that matter and are moving to Huntsville, Madison or Northern Alabama, give me a call and let me tell you about the Huntsville area and all it has to offer. Outdoor activities, water recreation, Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, Hunting & fishing, hiking, spelunking, mild climate and an employment rate beating the national average.
