Continuing Saga of Our House Building Adventure

Industry Observer

In the continuing saga of our house building adventure,  we are beginning to get bids for some of the early steps, like clearing the lot.  Somehow this is making it seem very real, and I am redoubling my scrutiny of house plans so we can get the "what will be built" even more refined.

Funny little considerations keep waking me up in the middle of the night - like, if we decide NOT to have a fireplace, then WHERE will we hang the Christmas stockings?  And yes, I am laughing at myself as I sometimes get bogged down in minute details, when we still haven't even figured out all the big picture items.

I think as time allows this weekend, I need to go look at some of our local new construction model homes with an eye to noticing kitchen and bathroom details.  (Hard telling if that will actually help define some choices, or confuse me even more - but it sounds like fun!)

This is a hard job...not matter what others may say.  Keep the goal in mind and let the other stuff...roll off your backs.

Wishing you the best of luck.
