Lebanon's Christmas Festival Horse Drawn Carriage Parade December 7 2013
Clip clop. Clip clop. You can almost hear the sounds of the approaching Lebanon Christmas Festival & Horse Drawn Carriage Parade coming down Broadway! Three weeks from today downtown Lebanon Ohio will swell with visitors (about 200,000!) getting into the Christmas spirit as horse drawn carriage after horse drawn carriage adorned in their holiday best parade down the street! (We've ever heard a rumor that the Budweiser Clydesdales will be making an appearance this year!)
The December 7th event will be the 25th annual edition and is one of the most popular Cincinnati area Christmas events, and why wouldn't it be? You get TWO parades, the first at 1 p.m. and then a candlelit version at 7 p.m.! Wrapped around the Lebanon Horse Drawn Carriage Parade is the Lebanon Christmas Festival, so you can make a day out of it! And some guy in a red suit from the North Pole and his spouse will be making an appearance too!
Add to the Christmas celebration choirs, dancers, street vendors, and plenty more! You can get some Christmas shopping done with some unique gifts from the downtown shops, or maybe have breakfast or lunch at one of the local eateries! Get a little chilly? Have a cup of hot cocoa to warm your insides!
Now as far as parking, there are some public lots for free, but don't expect those spots to last long! You'll also have free enterprise at work and parking nearby for about $5, or you can park on the residential streets for free. Allow plenty of time to find a spot and wear your walking shoes because you're probably going to be a few blocks away if you go for the neighborhood spots. Make sure you don't block the residents driveways or they may lose their Christmas spirit!
Lots of people bring their collapsible chairs and grab a spot on Broadway for prime viewing, the route boxes around downtown, so there are other spots that will work for watching the show!
So dress warmly and have a great time at the parade!
