Ocean City, MD: Winterfest of Lights Begins on Thursday! (Nov. 21,2013)
It's that wonderful time of year here at the beach! The holiday festivals are officially kicking-off! Head over tp Northside Park(125th St. Bayside) this Thursday for the official lighting of the giant Christmas Tree! Festivities begin at dusk... 4:30ish. School choirs, mini-speeches and the switch gets flipped to light Ocean City's gigundous Christmas Tree.... just like Times Square!
Every year Northside Park is transformed into a winter wonderland of lights with "moving" characters from storybooks, songs and Christmas traditions.
Let's pretend we're at Winterfest right this very second:
Dig out your $5 entrance fee from your warm, hooded parka! Oh, that fee is just for adults! Kids get in FREE! Buy your ticket and enter the big white tent! (Yes, the line looks long, but it moves very quickly!) Here comes your Tram. (These are actually the Boardwalk Trains, but during Winterfest they become Santa's Trams!) Put your blanket on the seat and share it with your Tram neighbors! ( Your butt will truly appreciate that blanket!) Sit back and enjoy the sing-a-long music as you rumble through the amazing exhibits. Hear the uhhs and ahhs? After your delightful ride, you'll exit back into the tent for some delicious cocoa and cookies! Then head over to get a picture with Santa! And don't forget to pickup some stocking stuffers from the Elves Hut!
Wasn't that a fun way to spend a holiday evening?
Ps: You did remember your hats and gloves!
