November Day 17 - How Are You On Today?

Question:  How are You on today?

 

This may seem like a simple enough question to ask, but I was really surprised on today when my husband and I went out to dinner after church, the hostess took us to our seats and stated that our waitress would be right with us.

Well, like we normally do, we speak and she introduces herself and she asked us, how we were doing and of course we always reply back and ask the same question back, well to my amazement, she stated Thank You and Thank You again, she's worked all day and no one had even asked her how her day was going. I was thinking how sad is that, here it is this young lady provided us a service and no one had taken the time to ask her how she was doing.

It's a small statement, but it can change a person's life.  Are we so into ourselves that we forget to see or ask how other's are doing.  

Yes, we live in a society that is geared toward, me, myself, and I - but if we would just take the time to see that it's not about us, it's really about helping others - that's our service to others!

As a professional who gives a service in helping others, if we would just take the time to find out how someone is doing? You may be surprised at the answer you get, give a hand and help someone and it will come back to you.  It's a great way to build a relationship and maybe even get a referral or two.  Remember, a smile, a thank you and even the question, How are you on today?  Will go a mighty long way in touching someone's life.

Graziella, You can tell a lot about a person watching how they treat others in the service business.  I ask their name and how they are doing. And , I find,  the service is always a bit kinder.
